About Kennedale
With a population just under 6,000 in the 2000 Census, Kennedale began as a settlement in the 1860s. Its founder, Oliver S. Kennedy, named the area after himself, then donated all of his other lots to the Southern Pacific Railroad to help bring business, population, and success to the region. The city is home to the Trinity Valley Baptist Seminary and College, an institution of higher learning, which was established in 1960.
