Our Services - Insulation
Metro Energy Savers provides residential and commercial insulation solutions to help keep your home or office cool during the Texas summer months and warm during the colder season. We specialize in various forms of insulation such as "blown-in," foam, batting and radiant barrier to help keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
Why Insulate?
Uninsulated walls and ceilings lose heat more quickly. This heat loss can cause a variety of problems in your home or office:
- Drafts across the floor,
- Discomfort from loss of body heat to cold wall surfaces,
- Higher heating costs,
- Condensation on the interior surfaces and ideal conditions for mold growth, mildew and decay, and
- Condensation within the interior wall cavity.
What About Insulation?
Insulation is designed to resist heat flow - essentially, if it is hot outside, insulation greatly reduces the amount of heat you can feel inside a house. Or, if it is cold outside, insulation helps keep the heat inside the house. Without insulation, the walls of your house would be very hot to the touch during the summer and your air conditioner must work harder to keep you cool. In the winter, a lack of insulation makes walls very cold to the touch and the furnace must work harder to keep you warm.
Insulation works best when air is not moving through or around it. Therefore, it is very important that air leaks be sealed to ensure that you get the full performance out of any insulation that is installed.
Metro Energy Savers provides the following forms of home and commercial insulation:
Blown-in Insulation - This type of insulation can be blown in an attic space or within interior walls in your home or office.
Spray-on Foam Insulation - This type of insulation is a polyurethane foam which is identical to the kind of insulation appliance manufacturers have used in refrigerators and water heaters for years. It is pumped through pressurized spray nozzles onto attic or side wall surfaces and expands to fit the space forming a continuous insulating barrier.
Batting Insulation - This form is the known as the "roll-on" fiberglass insulation. It is rolled into the attic and walls in between the studs to provide between 16-24 inches of rated insulation.

Radiant Barrier Insulation - Radiant barriers may be installed in attics in several variations. The simplest is to lay the radiant barrier directly on top of existing attic insulation, with the reflective side up. This is often called the attic floor application. Another way to install a radiant barrier is to attach it near the roof.
